Laurie Alley
Vocals, Sax, Piano, Flute, Keytar, Ukelele
From Sacramento, California. Laurie is the lead singer of Spindle 45. She also plays saxophone, flute, piano, ukelele, and melodica with the band. In addition to Spindle 45, Laurie lends her vocal and instrumental talents to local recording studios and artists. Awards include YES! Weekly’s Reader’s Choice for Best Musician, Best Vocalist, and Best Pianist.
Mike Chamis
Vocals, Guitar
From Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Mike sings and plays guitar for Spindle45. A graduate of the North Carolina School of the Arts, Mike is a staple musician in the triad area. When not performing, Mike teaches music at a local high school. Mike has been a recipient of a Duke Energy Regional Artist Project Grant. Awards include YES! Weekly’s Reader’s Choice for Best Guitarist.
Paul Schuh
Bass, Keys, Saxophone
From Asheville, North Carolina. Paul plays bass and sings for Spindle 45. When not performing or managing Spindle 45 behind the scenes, Paul provides sound and media services to local bands in the North Carolina triad area. Paul’s awards include YES! Weekly’s Reader’s Choice award for Best Bassist.
Mark Salehar
Percussion, Keys, Accordian
From Chicago, Illinois. Mark began playing the piano at just five years old and transitioned to the organ by the age of seven. At 10, he made his debut as a church organist at St. Peter and Paul Church on the south side of Chicago. The following year, he picked up the clarinet to join his school’s concert band. By 13, he expanded his musical repertoire to include vibraphone, bells, and xylophone, performing in the school jazz band and marching with the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps. It was during his time with the Cavaliers that Mark discovered his true passion—drums. Since then, he has played drums in various bands throughout his hometown of Chicago, as well as internationally in the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.
Faye Wilson
Vocals, Keys, Saxophone, Violin
From Detroit, Michigan. Faye sings and plays keyboard for Spindle 45. A gifted musician, Faye works with area musicians on performing and recording projects. When not performing music, Faye loves to travel. Faye’s awards include YES! Weekly’s Reader’s Choice award for Best Pianist.
