Laurie Alley
From Sacramento, California. Laurie is the lead singer of Spindle 45. She also plays saxophone, flute, piano, ukelele, and melodica with the band. In addition to Spindle 45, Laurie lends her vocal and instrumental talents to local recording studios and artists. Awards include YES! Weekly’s Reader’s Choice for Best Musician, Best Vocalist, and Best Pianist.
Grant Blair
From Winston-Salem, NC. Grant Started playing in bars at the tender age of 14. He was a Classical Guitar Major at the NC School of the Arts and Studied Jazz and Arranging at Berklee College of Music in Boston. Grant has toured extensively throughout the East Coast (Delaware to Louisiana) playing night clubs and concert halls as well as opening for national acts such as Cheap Trick, Humble Pie, Sea Level and Head East, to name a few….. He did a short stint as a backup singer in the 1980’s with Warner Bros Recording Artists Farrenheit as well as various bands and studio work in NYC. Grant can be seen on PBS playing with a full orchestra in “A Christmas Carol – The Concert” which was filmed in front of a live audience, in Chicago.
Mike Chamis
From Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Mike sings and plays guitar for Spindle45. A graduate of the North Carolina School of the Arts, Mike is a staple musician in the triad area. When not performing, Mike teaches music at a local high school. Mike has been a recipient of a Duke Energy Regional Artist Project Grant. Awards include YES! Weekly’s Reader’s Choice for Best Guitarist.
Matt D'Amico
From Silver Spring, Maryland. Matt sings and plays drums for Spindle 45. A consummate performer, Matt spends his days working with area musicians on performing and recording projects. Awards include YES! Weekly’s Reader’s Choice award for Best Percussionist.
Paul Schuh
From Asheville, North Carolina. Paul plays bass and sings for Spindle 45. When not performing or managing Spindle 45 behind the scenes, Paul provides sound and media services to local bands in the North Carolina triad area. Paul’s awards include YES! Weekly’s Reader’s Choice award for Best Bassist.
Faye Wilson
From Detroit, Michigan. Faye sings and plays keyboard for Spindle 45. A gifted musician, Faye works with area musicians on performing and recording projects. When not performing music, Faye loves to travel. Faye’s awards include YES! Weekly’s Reader’s Choice award for Best Pianist.
